Maíra Wong has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Maíra started their career at Davis Elen Advertising as an Account Executive, where they were responsible for monitoring timetables, fostering inter-departmental communications, and creating internal and external memos. In 2013, they joined Day 8 Experiences as The Yacht Week Country Manager, a role they held until 2019. In 2014, Maíra worked as a Project Manager for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee Brazil. Maíra'smost recent position was at Sambazon, where they served as the Director of Global Business Development. In this role, they were in charge of expanding Sambazon's international foodservice and retail operations in the Middle East, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America, managing an $8.5 million global business. Maíra also played a key role in marketing, launching the company's packaging and website in Arabic for the Middle East region and bringing in $26.6 million in revenue from 2016 to 2019, contributing to a 12% year over year growth in the company's global footprint.
Maíra Wong pursued their higher education at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro from 2002 to 2006. During this period, they obtained a degree in Social Communications with a focus on Journalism/Advertising. In 2011, Maíra enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they completed an Extension Certificate in Business Administration and Management, General in 2012.
