Rutger de Waard has had an extensive work experience since 2013. Rutger began their career as the Founder of Stukobeest, a company specialised in selling party outfits, where they were responsible for managing the daily operations. In 2015, they became the Founder of Fritschy Clothing, a streetwear label selling printed t-shirts and art designed by Kees Fritschy, and also took on the role of Treasurer at V.D.G. Lancet, the cultural student association of student association KSV Sanctus Virgilius. In 2016, they took on the role of Intern at DSM, where they were responsible for creating an inventory list of all electric motors available in the DSM Delft plants and setting up a replacement program, as well as the role of Administrative Assistant at Eburon academic publisher. In 2017, they became the Chairman at Lustrumweek Committee, organizing a week full of activities to celebrate the 24th lustrum of K. S. V Sanctus Virgilius, a fraternity with 2000 members. In 2020, they joined Samotics as a Customer Success Manager, and later took on the roles of Customer Success Representative and Operations Project Manager.
Rutger de Waard attended RSG Magister Alvinus from 2005 to 2011, where they obtained their High School diploma with an NT&NG profile. In 2011, they participated in a Study Abroad Semester at Macquarie University, taking courses in Management, Macro-economics, Statistics and Economy & Society. Rutger then attended Delft University of Technology from 2012 to 2015, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Technology, Policy & Management with a specialisation in the energy domain. Rutger continued their studies at Delft University of Technology, graduating in 2019 with a Master's degree in Complex Systems Engineering with a specialisation in the energy domain.
