Sales Engineering Manager, Major Accounts at Samsara

Rory O'Dea has a diverse work experience spanning over 17 years. Rory started their career as a Software Engineer Intern at S1 Corporation in 2004. Following this, they joined Jinny Software as an Operations Engineer in 2005 and later transitioned to the role of Solutions Architect and Technical Sales Manager. During their time at Jinny Software, Rory played a crucial role in expanding the company's presence in the Americas region and onboarding a team of pre and post-sale engineers.

In 2015, Rory joined Enghouse Networks as the Head of Technical Sales for VAS products, where they were responsible for developing new business and managing existing accounts for Enghouse's VAS, OSS, BSS, and Call Center product customers in North America. Rory also served as the pre-sales expert for all mobile VAS products, contributing to the acquisition of major tier-1 customers and generating significant revenues for the company.

Since 2019, Rory has been working at Samsara, where they have held positions such as Manager of Inside Sales Engineering and Manager of Enterprise Sales Engineering. Rory currently serves as the Sales Engineering Manager for Major Accounts, overseeing a successful team of inside sales engineers based in the Eastern US office. Samsara specializes in providing IoT solutions to fleets and industrial operators, utilizing hardware, software, and cloud technologies to bring real-time visibility, analytics, and AI to connected operations.

Throughout their career, Rory has demonstrated expertise in the VAS domain, including SMS, MMS, emergency alerting, RCS, IM, visual voicemail call routing, SS7, Diameter, and SIP signaling. Rory has contributed to the acquisition of major customers and has played a vital role in the growth and success of the companies they have worked for.

Rory O'Dea completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Applications with a focus on Information Systems from Dublin City University. This educational achievement took place from 2001 to 2005.
