Erin Gates

Erin Gates is an experienced retirement specialist with a strong background in pension consulting and administration. Since October 2011, Erin has served as a Senior Retirement Specialist at SBCERA, where responsibilities include leading the retirement counseling unit and managing special projects, as well as acting as a subject matter expert for the Pension Gold refresh project. Previously, Erin worked as a Retirement Specialist at SBCERA, advising members on retirement benefits and ensuring application compliance with relevant laws. Erin's experience also includes roles as Office Administrator and Manager at the University of Illinois at Springfield, Contract Administrator and Business Analyst at Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc., and Benefits Counselor and Paralegal at the Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Illinois. Educational qualifications comprise a Master of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
