Patrice Wakeley has a diverse work experience in the field of equity & belonging, starting with roles at Youth L.E.A.D. as the Youth Programs Manager and at East Oakland Youth Development Center as the Pathway to College & Career Coordinator in 2013. From 2014 onwards, Patrice worked at Bishop O'Dowd High School, where they held various positions including Academic Support Liaison, Counselor & CORE Program Coordinator, Director of Remediation for BOD Summer Academy, Academic Dean, and Director of Equity & Belonging. Their most recent role is as the Director of Institutional Equity & Belonging at San Francisco Friends School, starting in 2023.
Patrice Wakeley holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. Prior to this, Patrice obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and History from the University of Miami. Patrice also participated in a Semester At Sea program through ISE. For high school, Patrice attended Bishop O'Dowd High School. Additionally, Patrice has obtained a certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University, earned in February 2023.
