Shannon Stearns

Shannon Stearns has extensive experience in art education and program management, currently serving as the Group Tours and Family Programs Manager at the San José Museum of Art since March 2017, where roles have included Interim Director of Kids Summer Art Camp and Senior Studio Arts Educator. As a co-founder and Art Instructor at San Carlos Art Academy, Shannon developed a curriculum for young aspiring artists. Previous experience includes a past and present internship at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, where programming focused on museum literacy for sixth graders, and a reception role at Temple University involving creative engagement initiatives. Educational achievements include a Master’s Degree in Art History and dual Bachelor’s Degrees in the History of Art and Visual Culture and Anthropology from UC Santa Cruz.
