Byron Roelofsz

Byron Roelofsz is an experienced professional in the field of AI solutions and actuarial science. Currently serving as the AI Solutions Director at Sand Technologies since January 2024, Byron previously held diverse roles at ExploreAI from January 2017 to December 2023, including AI Solutions Director, Key Account Director, Technical Programme Lead, Senior Technical Lead, and Senior Data Scientist. Prior to that, Byron worked as an Actuarial Analyst at Discovery Limited from October 2014 to December 2016, focusing on pricing, reinsurance, and provisions calculations within the Group Risk division. Academically, Byron is pursuing a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary designation with the Actuarial Society of South Africa and holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics from the University of Pretoria, earned in 2013.
