Kelly Johnston's work experience begins in 2004 as a Journalist for Radio New Zealand. In 2006, they took a career break for overseas experience. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Senior Account Executive for Bell Pottinger. In 2008, they joined Professional Public Relations as an Account Manager, eventually becoming an Account Director and gaining experience in corporate and consumer teams. Kelly also worked in-house at client Emirates Airline, establishing a local PR function and acting as PR Manager for Australia. From 2013 to 2014, they served as an External Relations Manager at Lion. In 2015, they became a Senior Consultant at Baldwin Boyle Shand. In 2017, they started as the General Manager of Singapore at Sandpiper Communications, a strategic communications consultancy, and in 2019, they became the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Southeast Asia at the same company.

Kelly Johnston's education history is as follows:

1. From 2016 to 2017, Kelly attended the National University of Singapore, where they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Environmental Studies.

2. Between 2001 and 2005, Kelly studied at the University of Canterbury, obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Marketing Management.

3. From 2003 to 2005, Kelly attended CPIT (Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology), where they pursued a Bachelor of Journalism degree with a focus on Broadcast Journalism.

4. Kelly completed their secondary education at Nga Tawa from 1996 to 2000. Although their degree is not specified, they studied English, Mathematics, History, Geography, and Photography during this time.

In addition to their formal education, Kelly has obtained several certifications:

1. In October 2016, they obtained the "Responsible Investment Essentials" certification from the Principles for Responsible Investment institution.

2. In February 2016, Kelly successfully completed the "GRI Certified Training Course" offered by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

3. In May 2015, they earned the "International Certificate in Investor Relations" from The Investor Relations Society.

4. In October 2013, Kelly completed the "Creating Excellent Communicators - Corporate Performance" training course provided by the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

5. In June 2012, they obtained the "Crisis Communications and Emergency Response Processes" certification from Kenyon International Emergency Services.

6. Kelly earned the "ATCL Teaching (Speech and Drama, Theatre Arts, Communication Skills)" certification from Trinity College London in January 2005.
