Amit Nandy

Amit Nandy, PMP, CSM, has extensive experience in the financial industry, specifically in IT and project management roles. Currently, Amit is serving as the SVP and Director of IT PMO at Sandy Spring Bank, where they assumed the role in October 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of VP and Technology Projects & Implementation Manager at the same company from February 2021 to October 2021.

Before joining Sandy Spring Bank, Amit worked at Andrews Federal Credit Union as the Director of Security & Application Support from September 2019 to December 2020. In this role, they led teams responsible for IT operations, core systems management, security operations, applications development, and integration. Amit successfully guided the IT department through various audits, including a critical NCUA audit that resulted in a perfect rating in 2020.

From 2017 to May 2019, Amit served as the Associate Vice President of Business Technology at Apple Federal Credit Union, overseeing the migration of the entire technology infrastructure for the organization. Amit also led the technology team through multiple enterprise audits, ensuring minimal findings were identified.

Amit's previous roles at Apple FCU include Director of Core Operations, where they oversaw the administration and management of various core applications, and Document Imaging & Records Manager, where they built and managed the Document Imaging and Records Department. In addition, they served as a Helpdesk Specialist II and a Computer Operator and PC/Network Support Specialist.

Throughout their career, Amit has demonstrated strong leadership skills, successfully managing teams and guiding them through audits and complex projects. Amit holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

Amit Nandy, PMP, CSM has a strong educational background and a diverse range of certifications. Amit obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Management from George Mason University - Costello College of Business, where they studied from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed their Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Business Administration at Northern Virginia Community College from 2003 to 2006.

Before pursuing higher education, Amit graduated from Fairfax High School in 2001, earning their high school diploma. Amit also attended WT Woodson High School from 1998 to 2001.

Aside from their formal education, Amit has attained various certifications to enhance their professional expertise. Amit became a Project Management Professional (PMP) by acquiring the certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2015. Additionally, they obtained the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) designation from the Scrum Alliance in January 2021.

More recently, Amit acquired several other certifications. Amit became a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from the Scrum Alliance in July 2022. In August 2022, they earned the ICAgile Certified Professional credential from ICAgile. Furthermore, Amit has obtained various technical certifications, including the CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications in 2010 and 2009, respectively. Amit also acquired the Microsoft Certified Professional designation in 2010.
