Razaq Doherty

Razaq Doherty is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in fund operations and accounting across various sectors. Currently serving as Director of Fund Operations and Senior Vice President of Operations at Sango Capital since May 2013, Razaq is responsible for fund reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, and operational due diligence for an Africa-focused private equity fund advisor. Prior to this role, Razaq held positions including Senior Fund Accountant at Red Mountain Capital Advisors, where the management of a $300M hedge fund was a primary responsibility, and Treasury Analyst at ExxonMobil, focusing on affiliate finance functions and cash operations. Additional experience includes roles at Oaktree Capital Management as Senior Fund Administrator, responsible for multiple private equity funds, and as a Supervising Senior Auditor at Rothstein Kass, overseeing audits for various financial services clients. Razaq began a career in cost accounting at Honeywell and holds an MBA in Finance from California State University, Los Angeles, and a BSc in Accounting from Tuskegee University.
