Dipak Amrutkar

Director Invivo Pharmacology at Saniona

Dipak Amrutkar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Dipak began their career as a Lecturer at Jan Nayak Chaudhari Devilal College of Pharmacy in 2003. Dipak then joined Glenmark Pharmaceuticals in 2004 as a Senior Researcher, where they played a key role in the nonclinical characterization of several molecules in clinical trials.

In 2008, Dipak Amrutkar joined the Danish Headache Center at the University of Copenhagen as a PhD candidate. Dipak completed their PhD in 2013 and continued their association with the center as a Post Doc until 2014.

From 2014 to present, Dipak Amrutkar has been working at Saniona, initially as a Research Scientist and later progressing to the role of Senior Research Scientist. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Scientist at Saniona. In their current role, they lead team meetings, establishes collaborations with academics and Contract Research Organizations (CROs), prepares study reports for regulatory authorities, and focuses on identifying rare epilepsies associated with channelopathy.

Throughout their work experience, Dipak Amrutkar has actively contributed to the discovery of novel treatments for refractory epilepsies, neuropathic pain, pruritis, tremors, and inflammatory/arthritis conditions.

Dipak Amrutkar received a B.Pharmacy degree from the College of Pharmacy Nashik from 1996 to 2000. Dipak then obtained a Master of Pharmacy degree in Pharmacology from Gujarat Ayurved University between 2001 and 2003. Finally, they completed their PhD in Migraine-Pharmacology at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen from 2008 to 2013.
