Jaison Madume, FRM, has a diverse work experience in investment risk, risk management, and quantitative analysis. Jaison started their career at Old Mutual Life Assurance Company as a Costing and Risk Management Officer, where they focused on producing quotations for new pension funds and reviewing charges for existing pension funds. Jaison then joined Mergence Investment Managers as a Quantitative Analyst, where they were responsible for data scheduling, portfolio exposure reports, risk reports, performance data, and performance attributions. Later, they took on the role of Risk Manager at Mergence, where they also worked on risk management and risk models, as well as generating fund fact sheets and implementing Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) reporting. Currently, Jaison is the Head of Investment Risk at Sanlam Investments, where they are responsible for investment risk reports, risk analysis, risk premia, and developing and maintaining the Power BI Performance, Attribution and Risk Representation tool.
Jaison Madume, FRM, obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Statistics from the University of Zimbabwe from 2002 to 2006. Jaison then pursued an Mphil degree in Mathematical Finance at the University of Cape Town from 2009 to 2010. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Jaison attended Goromonzi High School from 2000 to 2001, but no degree or field of study is specified. In addition to their academic qualifications, Jaison holds the FRM® certification obtained from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) in January 2017. Jaison also obtained the RE5 Regulatory Examination certification from the Financial Sector Conduct Authority in November 2019.
