Tom Lai has worked in the software engineering field since 1996. Tom began their career at Phase Technology as a Software Engineer, where they worked on Phase analyzing GUI softwares on both Windows and embedded devices. In 1997, they moved to Delta Controls as a Software Engineer, where they worked on Windows VxD & NT TCP/IP tunneling protocol driver. In 1998, they joined Glenayre as a Software Engineer, where they were promoted to lead and maintain Site Networking. In 2000, they joined Redback Networks, an Ericsson Company, as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they worked on Phase2 routing stack, PPP dial-up, DHCP relay, ARP, and MLIS internetworking. In 2013, they joined Sansay as a Software Engineering Manager, where they developed data mining tools supporting MMS by parsing detailed call records (CDR), auto-correlating with database, querying MySQL using calculation statements, and interfacing via soap/xml for real-time stats from Sansay SBC (VSXi).
Tom Lai obtained their Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington between 1989 and 1992. Tom then went on to obtain their Master degree in Computer Science Engineering from the same university between 1992 and 1994.
