Botsepegi Motau began their career as a Training Manager for Standard Bank in 1995 before later transitioning to Absa Bank in the same role. Botsepegi then took on the role of Projects Implementation Manager at Absa Bank in 2009. Subsequently, they joined Barclays Africa Group Limited as the Regional Head of Business Enablement in 2013. Finally, they moved to Santam Insurance in 2016, where they held various leadership roles, including Products and Systems Performance, Learning and Development Manager. Throughout their career, Botsepegi demonstrated expertise in training, project management, and business enablement.

Botsepegi Motau completed their Matric Certificate at Thomas Mofolo High in the commercial field in 1989. Botsepegi went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Development from Tshwane University of Technology from 2008 to 2010. Motau then completed an Advanced Leadership Programme in Organisational Leadership at Barclays Absa Inhouse Development Programme from 2010 to 2012. Botsepegi furthered their education by pursuing Finance for Non-Finance Managers at UFS in Bloemfontein in 2013, and People, Enterprise, and Risk Management in the Finance Industry in 2014.
