Dr. Brienne Downing

Dr. Brienne Downing has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of special education. Dr. Brienne started their career at Excelsior Academy in 2007 as a Teacher, where they worked for almost a decade until 2016. In 2016, they joined the Santee School District as a Program Specialist and later became the Coordinator of Special Education in 2019. Currently, Dr. Downing holds the position of Director of Special Education at the Santee School District.

Dr. Brienne Downing pursued their education in a progressive manner. Dr. Brienne started by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California Baptist University, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Following this, they attended Point Loma Nazarene University from 2007 to 2011, obtaining a Master's degree in Special Education. Finally, they completed their highest level of education by attending a joint program between the University of California, San Diego and California State University, San Marcos, where they earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership from 2014 to 2017.
