Sabine Pilot

Sabine Pilot is currently the Head of Development at Santhera Pharmaceuticals. Sabine has over eight years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in clinical trial support functions.

Pilot began their career at Actelion in 2007 as the Director of the Global Resource Planning & Management Group. In this role, they were responsible for forecasting staff resources for clinical trials globally, reviewing and monitoring resource planning and allocation with regional monitoring team managers and study team leaders. Sabine also led the resourcing and contract management group, facilitating the provision of contracted personnel at HQ and regionally. In 2011, they took on the role of Global Clinical Monitoring (GCM) & Operations Manager, which included all the responsibilities of their previous role, as well as operational line management & processes for clinical trials support.

During their time at Actelion, Pilot was responsible for successfully implementing a Functional Service Provider (FSP) model within GCM globally. Sabine also set up GCM staff productivity metrics and produced monthly dashboards to analyse resource utilisation and support Management decisions. In addition, they coordinated, promoted and managed the implementation of a Resource Planning & Management Tool within Clinical Development (CD).

In 2015, Pilot left Actelion to join Santhera Pharmaceuticals as Head of Development. In this role, they are responsible for leading the development of Santhera’s products and ensuring that they meet all regulatory requirements.

Sabine Pilot has a Master in Health Engineering from the University of Pharmacy Montpellier in France. Sabine also has a Bachelor in Life Science from the University Paul Sabatier - Toulouse (France).

They are on a team with Günther Metz - Head, Business Development & EVP, Rudolf Hausmann - Head, Technical Development & Operations, and Andrew Smith - CFO. Sabine Pilot reports to Dario Eklund, CEO.
