Stephen Piela

Stephen Piela has a diverse and extensive work experience. Stephen most recently worked as the Head of Product Management - Cryo Solutions & Final Fill at Sartorius Stedim Biotech starting in April 2022. Before that, they served as the Director of Product Management - Cell Culture / Process Intensification at Repligen Corporation from September 2020 to April 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at MilliporeSigma, including Group Product Manager for Sterile Filtration BioProcessing, Tangential Flow & Process Intensification, and Sterile Filtration & Prefilters (Durapore). Stephen also served as a Senior Product Manager for Sterile Filtration (Single Use Capsules) at MilliporeSigma. Before joining MilliporeSigma, they worked as a Technical Product Manager at Agilent Technologies and as a Product Manager - Analytical X-Ray at Philips. Stephen started their career as a Technical Sales Engineer at Beacon Power Corporation and Olympus NDT.

Stephen Piela earned an Associates of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Springfield Technical Community College in 1990. Stephen then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Material Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1991 to 1994. Later, Stephen obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in General Management from the Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst, completing their studies in 2011.
