Sumedh P. Surwade is the Founder and CEO at SAS Nanotechnologies. Prior to this, they worked as an R&D Chemist at FUJIFILM Imaging Colorants, Inc. from January 2015 to December 2017. There, they were responsible for developing inks/formulations for commercial inkjet printing applications. From January 2012 to December 2015, Sumedh worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory where they developed single layer graphene based separation membranes for water desalination. Sumedh also worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pittsburgh from January 2010 to December 2012 where they were responsible for DNA templated nanofabrication and molecular lithography, in addition to synthesis of graphene and carbon nanotubes using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. Sumedh started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Lowell from January 2007 to December 2010 where they worked on aqueous organic electronic materials based inks/formulations for inkjet printing, dip coating and conducting transparent display applications, as well as chemiresistor sensors on flexible substrates for detection of toxic vapors and nerve agent simulants.

Sumedh P. Surwade has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry/Polymer Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, an MS in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Dallas, and a B. Chem. Tech from Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai.
