Vinasithamby Ravi has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Vinasithamby worked as an Assistant Scientist at the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) where they were involved in groundwater monitoring and analysis for an environmental remediation project. Prior to this role, they were an Environmental Technician at SRC, where they analyzed groundwater data for the CLEANS project.
Ravi also worked as a Masters Student at the University of Saskatchewan, focusing on an unspecified field of study. Before that, they served as an Environmental Officer at the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), where they coordinated environmental impact assessment (EIA) works for a coal power project.
Vinasithamby also has experience as an Environment, Health and Safety Manager at Babithan Construction, where they managed health, safety, and environmental activities for an infrastructure project. Additionally, Ravi worked as an Environmental and CSR Manager at Vestas, where they implemented environmental management plans and coordinated social safeguard activities.
Vinasithamby has also held roles as a Senior Environmental Officer for the Light Rail Transit Project and the Skills Development Project, where they were responsible for coordinating EIAs and compliance monitoring. Ravi has also worked as a Research Executive at The Nielsen Company Lanka, contributing to social research projects.
Furthermore, they served as an Environmental Officer for the Re-awakening Project & Emergency Northern Recovery Project, conducting monitoring visits and preparing reports for various infrastructure schemes. In addition, Ravi worked as a Field Manager for Resources Development Consultants, where they supervised a team and contributed to the preparation of livelihood assessments for an irrigation scheme.
Vinasithamby Ravi completed their Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Jaffna, from the year 2003 to 2007. Vinasithamby further pursued higher education at the Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS), University of Peradeniya, where they obtained a Master's degree in Environmental Science, from the year 2009 to 2010.
