Niels Wielaard

Niels Wielaard is the founder, co-owner, and CEO of Satelligence, a company specializing in satellite-based solutions for monitoring forests, agriculture, carbon, and water since April 2016. Prior to this role, Niels served as a senior project manager and remote sensing and geo-information specialist at SarVision from 2002 to March 2016. Niels's expertise includes ecosystem services as a GIS research analyst at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, where the focus was on developing methodologies for biological corridors and economic opportunity costs. Early in the career, Niels worked as a carbon forestry research analyst for Face the Future and as a forest certification research analyst at Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands B.V. Niels holds a Master of Science degree in Forestry from Wageningen University & Research, completed between 1995 and 2003.
