Chris Young has a diverse work experience in the construction and architectural industry. Chris started their career as an intern at Michael Gaertner Architects in 2003 and then worked at Bailey Architects as an intern for a brief period. In 2008, they worked as an intern architect at bhdp architecture and later joined SFA Architects as an intern architect and became a LEED AP. In 2010, they worked as a Revit Trainer/Consultant at Collaborative Solutions Architectural Group Inc and then as an adjunct professor at ITT Technical Institute, where they taught sustainable design. From 2011 to 2016, Chris worked at D.E. Harvey Builders, first as a Construction Technology Manager, overseeing the integration of new technologies, and then as the BIM Manager, responsible for the continued integration and development of BIM standards. Since 2016, Chris has been working as a VDC Project Manager at Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, where they oversee training, workflow development, project loads/schedules, and provides guidance and mentorship to departmental personnel.
Chris Young received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design, Art & Architectural History from Texas A&M University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Chris then pursued a Master's degree in Architecture & Urban Design at the University of Colorado at Denver from 2006 to 2008. In addition, they obtained a certification as a Procore Associate from Procore Technologies in September 2015.
