Ahmed Albalawi

Ahmed Albalawi serves as a Research Fellow and Research Lead at KAPSARC since March 2022, focusing on the Utilities and Renewables program, which encompasses a wide range of topics within the energy ecosystem including power system modeling, renewable technologies, and energy innovation. Additionally, since May 2022, Ahmed is a member of the Saudi Energy Leaders Assembly. Prior to KAPSARC, Ahmed was the Head of Renewables and Energy Storage Research at Saudi Electricity Company from July 2016 to February 2022, directing research on renewable energy solutions and electric vehicles. Previous experience includes a role as a PMO consultant at MISCO and a background in renewable energy systems technology with a Master of Science from Loughborough University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Brighton.
