Mauricio Preciado-Awad

Mauricio Preciado-Awad has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Mauricio is currently the Director of Innovative Finance and Ventures at Save the Children UK, where they lead initiatives related to financing and investments. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of Blended and Innovative Finance at Save the Children Global Ventures.

Before joining Save the Children, Mauricio worked at Big Society Capital as a Senior Advisor in Blended Finance. Mauricio'sresponsibilities included overseeing investments, establishing a community of practice, and developing new funding opportunities. Mauricio also represented Big Society Capital in various investment committees.

Mauricio's previous experience includes working as an Investment Manager at AlphaMundi Group Ltd, where they managed an impact investment fund in Latin America. Mauricio played a key role in setting up a regional hub in Colombia and led deal negotiations in agriculture, fintech, and consumer goods.

Before entering the impact investing field, Mauricio worked at Christian Aid in various roles, including Commercial Projects Advisor, Investment and Enterprise Development Associate, and Commercial and Grants Accountant. Mauricio was involved in innovative finance initiatives, impact investments, and creating inclusive business programs.

Mauricio also co-founded Theatre Delicatessen, a social enterprise in London's Theatre District, where they served as the COO. Additionally, they gained experience in audit and assurance as a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers UK.

Mauricio Preciado-Awad completed an Executive Programme in Impact Investment at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2015. Prior to that, they obtained the Chartered Accountant qualification from ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs between 2005 and 2009. In 2002, they earned a BSc degree in Economics and Management from the University of Bristol. Additionally, they obtained a certification from THE BRITISH PRIVATE EQUITY AND VENTURE CAPITAL ASSOCIATION named LP Foundation in 2019.
