Timothy J. Nelson

Tim joined Saw Mill in 2003. He leads a deal team, sourcing, executing, and managing investments.

Previously, Tim was with CIVC Partners in Chicago, where he focused on control investments of middle-market manufacturing and business services companies. While there, he completed new transactions and add-on acquisitions, and assisted portfolio companies with post-closing strategic and corporate development activities. Before joining CIVC, he was an investment banker at William Blair & Company, a Midwest investment bank that handles middle-market mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and other corporate finance transactions. Tim graduated with an MBA in Strategic and Operations Management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a BS degree in Finance from the University of Illinois.

Tim leads Saw Mill’s investments in Climate Pros, iAutomation, RND Automation, and Victory Energy Operations. He also sits on the Board of Directors of Let’s Pave.
