Rainer also gained experience as an IT Security Analyst at Compass Security AG and held multiple positions at genua GmbH, including System Administrator/Security Manager and Software Engineer. During their time at genua GmbH, they developed high-security firewall and VPN products and worked on security consulting projects.

Rainer's earlier experience includes working as a developer at OpenBSD and as a Werkstudent at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, where they were involved in programming robots and conducting experiments in artificial intelligence and cognition.

Rainer started their career as a Werkstudent in Security Consulting at NCC network consulting and Siemens ICM, where they were primarily focused on system testing and security.
