Summer Yue

Summer Yue currently serves as the Chief of Staff for AI and Director of Safety and Standards at Scale AI, leading research at the company's new safety lab SEAL and advising the founder and CEO, Alexandr Wang, on strategic AI initiatives. Previously, Summer held various roles at Google from April 2018 to November 2023, including Staff Research Engineer at Google DeepMind, where responsibilities included leading research on Bard RLHF and guiding a team of over 35 researchers. Additional experience at Google encompassed technical contributions to LaMDA, developing RL infrastructure, and designing machine learning models for YouTube's Trust & Safety division. Summer’s early experience includes software engineering internships at Square and Microsoft, as well as research roles at The Wharton School and China Petroleum. Summer holds dual degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the Jerome Fisher M&T Program and The Wharton School, respectively.
