Matthew Waters

VP Marketing, Demand Generation at ScalePad

Matthew Waters has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Matthew currently holds the position of VP Marketing, Demand Generation at ScalePad, where they are responsible for building and growing the business through the development of a comprehensive demand-generation practice. Prior to this, they worked as a Fractional VP Marketing consultant and coach in 2022.

Before joining ScalePad, Waters held several roles at Ricoh USA, Inc. from 2017 to 2022. Matthew started as the Director of Demand Generation and was later promoted to be the strategic leader of North American Demand Generation. In this position, they were responsible for developing and executing acquisition, retention, and growth programs for all hardware, SaaS, and service portfolios.

Waters also had a significant tenure at Ricoh Canada Inc. from 2007 to 2017. Matthew held various marketing positions such as Director, Marketing Operations & Demand Generation, where they expanded demand generation activities and led digital marketing practices. Matthew also served as Sr. Manager, Marketing Operations & Planning, Sr. Manager, Marketing Operations & Support, and National Manager, Corporate Promotions, where they managed in-market promotional strategies and expanded channel partners.

Before their time at Ricoh, Waters worked at Punch Integrated Communications Inc. as an Account Director, where they led the go-to-market strategy and the acquisition of new business. Matthew also held roles as Associate Account Director and Senior Account Manager.

Earlier in their career, Waters worked at Canon Canada as a Marketing Manager for New Business Development and Advertising & Promotions. Matthew was responsible for product management and marketing strategies for the consumer group. Matthew also worked in product marketing and as an Assistant Marketing Manager.

Waters began their career at Kim Snow & Associates, where they conducted market research for CPG and B2C businesses. Matthew also worked as a Marketing Manager and Assistant Marketing Manager at the York University Student Centre.

Throughout their career, Waters has demonstrated expertise in demand generation, marketing strategy, go-to-market planning, product marketing, and digital marketing.

Matthew Waters has a diverse education history. Matthew attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education, where they studied Executive Leadership & Organizational Behavior until 2017. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Commerce degree at York University. In 1998, they completed their Bachelor of Commerce - BCom Hrs. in Marketing, and in 1997, they obtained their Bachelor of Commerce - BCom in Business Administration, Management and Operations.

Additionally, Matthew Waters has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2019, they completed the "Leading a Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive Workplace" certification from the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI). In 2015, they obtained the "Change Management & Organizational Transformation" certification from Kotter. Matthew also acquired the "Coaching for Great Work" certification from Box of Crayons in 2014. In 2013, they completed the "Coaching for Peak Performance" certification by DDI | Development Dimensions International. Furthermore, Matthew obtained the "Crucial Conversations" certification from Crucial Learning & Ricoh in 2012. Finally, they have also completed certifications in "Advanced Google Analytics" and "Google Analytics - Beginning" from Google Analytics. Additionally, they are currently set to acquire the "SEO" certification from HubSpot Academy in November 2022.
