Santiago José Cortijo Aragón has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries.

Santiago José is the Co-founder and Head of R&D at SCALNYX since November 2019. SCALNYX specializes in providing AI-powered data intelligence solutions for performance-sensitive industries such as Capital/Financial Markets and IoT. Santiago's role involves ensuring the software's scalability, security, and efficiency. Santiago José utilizes state-of-the-art technologies like multicore processors and Intel Optane memory to enable in-memory computing acceleration.

Before SCALNYX, Santiago worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Tredzone from January 2019 to August 2019.

Santiago José also served as a Scientific Researcher at Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6 from November 2015 to December 2018. Here, they implemented a Bayesian-Network-based model to diagnose anomalies in the current states of a SCADA system, interpreting anomalies as potential threats to system integrity. This work was part of the European H2020 project SCISSOR.

Additionally, Santiago worked as a Research Intern at Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6 from March 2015 to September 2015.

Their previous experience includes being a Software Developer at Telecomunicaciones Computación y Control S.A. from May 2012 to February 2013, where they worked on software development in C++ and Qt, specifically in IP telephony.

Santiago also served as a Research Assistant at Centro de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicaciones CTIC UNI from July 2009 to August 2011.

Santiago José started their career as an intern at Sociedad Inducontrol, where they worked in the Project Department, developing software in LabVIEW for the pharmaceutical industry inspection using computer vision. This internship lasted from January 2011 to June 2011.

Santiago José Cortijo Aragón obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechactronics, with a focus on Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering, from the National University of Engineering. Santiago José attended this institution from 2006 to 2012.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Santiago pursued further education at Sorbonne Université. Santiago José enrolled in a Master's program in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, from 2013 to 2015.

Building on their Master's degree, Santiago continued their education at Sorbonne Université and pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Probabilistic Graphical Models, with a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence. Santiago José completed their PhD program from 2015 to 2018.
