Simen Anker-Olsen has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Simen began their career in 2004 at Asker Basketball Club, where they held various positions until 2008. In 2010, they worked as a support contact at Oslo Kommune Bydel 3 Sagene, followed by a role as an avlaster at Røde Kors Hovedstaden from 2011 to 2012. Simen then joined Norges idrettsforbund as a project collaborator for a brief period in 2012. From 2008 to 2016, they worked in different positions at Asker kommune, gaining experience in childcare, teaching, and project coordination. Simen also had a significant role as a basketball player and coach at Centrum Tigers, participating in both the elite and first division teams from 2014 to 2016 and 2019 to 2021, respectively. Additionally, they served as a trainer for younger teams in 2016 and 2017. Simen's most recent work experience is with Scandic Hotels, starting as a Revenue Manager from November 2016 to March 2020. Simen then progressed to become the Head of Leisure Revenue Management from March 2020 to May 2021. Currently, Simen holds the position of Head of Leisure and Meeting Revenue Management & Area Revenue Manager at Scandic Hotels, starting from May 2021. In this role, they lead a team responsible for optimizing group segments across all Scandic hotels in Norway.
Simen Anker-Olsen has an education history that includes a Master's degree in Økonomi from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB), which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they attended Sør-Trøndelag University College (HiST) from 2013 to 2014, where they studied Økonomi. Simen also holds a Bachelor's degree in Sport management from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH), which they completed from 2010 to 2013. In 2012, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, where they briefly studied Sosiologi.
