Alicia Backus

Alicia Backus has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Alicia started their career in 2004 as a Medical Social Worker at Albany Medical Center, where they worked until 2018. In 2005, they also worked as a Wilderness Therapist at Adirondack Leadership Expeditions for a year. From 2006 to 2010, Alicia served as a School Social Worker at Hoosick Falls Central School. In 2010, they joined the Schenectady City School District as a Clinical Social Worker and later became the Assistant Director of Student Support Services in 2021. Additionally, they have been working as a Therapist in a private practice since 2015.

Alicia Backus has a postgraduate degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Stony Brook University, which they completed in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Masters degree in Social Work from the University at Albany, SUNY from 2001 to 2003.
