Mia Jackson is a Product Manager at Schmidt Futures.
Previously, she interned at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative as a data scientist where she helped build tools for science researchers, and as an investment analyst at the Yale Investments Office. She also worked as a teaching assistant at Columbia University’s Center for Justice where she taught computer science fundamentals to formerly incarcerated individuals. During undergrad, she spent three years volunteering for SheCode, a program that introduces middle and high school girls to basic programming skills.
As a graduate student, she researched the role of federally-subsidized urban planning programs in perpetuating segregation in U.S. cities. In her free time, Mia enjoys writing about cities and has been published in Newsweek, Slate, The Daily Beast, Next City, and elsewhere.
