Alexandra Skrivanek is a dedicated Program Scientist currently advancing the Climate Institute portfolio at Schmidt Sciences and leading the Ocean Biogeochemistry Virtual Institute. Prior to this role, Alexandra contributed to Schmidt Futures and served as an Associate Program Officer at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, where responsibilities included facilitating consensus-based studies on marine impacts and data strategies. A NOAA Sea Grant Knauss Marine Policy Fellow, Alexandra gained experience as a policy analyst at NOAA. Academically, Alexandra earned a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Florida, with a dissertation focusing on sea-level variability, and a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Michigan. Extensive research background encompasses multiple publications and fieldwork across various marine environments.
