Lynette Brown has extensive work experience in the field of education. Lynette started their career in 1996 as a Teacher at The School District of Philadelphia, where they remained until March 2022. During their time there, Lynette held the role of Director of Visual Art, Dance, and Theatre. In 2021, they joined The University of the Arts as a Senior Lecturer in the Graduate School of Education & Professional Studies. Lynette continues to hold this position.
Lynette Brown attended the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education from 2010 to 2013, focusing on the Philadelphia Writing Project. Lynette also obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Graphic Design from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University. Additionally, they earned a Masters in Education in Art Education from the University of the Arts. Lynette holds multiple certifications, including Maintenance of Certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards, National Board Art Ed certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, and National Board Certified Teacher status. Lynette is also certified in Art Education K-12 and Mid Level English 7-9.
