Steven Harris

Steven Harris has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry. Steven started their career as a Licensed Insurance Representative at HB Group Insurance Management Ltd., where they excelled in sales and customer service, consistently ranking in the top 5 for sales and referrals. Steven then moved on to an Outbound Sales role, traveling nationally and generating sales opportunities through outbound calls. Steven then became a National Trainer at HB Group, where they developed training content and delivered training sessions to new hires.

After their time at HB Group, Steven joined Travelers Canada as a Broker Training Specialist, focusing on strengthening broker partnerships through comprehensive system and product training. Steven later joined KTX Insurance Brokers as the Director of Training & Development, creating a new hire training program and ensuring licensing compliance.

Currently, Steven is working at Scoop Insurance Brokers, where they have held multiple roles. Steven started as the Director of Operations & Deputy Principal Broker, overseeing product ownership and workflow design, as well as training and development. Steven is now the Director of Underwriting & Operations | Deputy Principal Broker, responsible for new business, retention, and profitability goals. Steven leads the Operations team, which includes underwriting, training, policy issuance, and commercial insurance.

Steven Harris obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Ryerson University in the years 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a High School Diploma from Iroquois Ridge High School from 2001 to 2005. In 2012 to 2018, Steven pursued a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada. In 2018 to 2019, they attained an Adult Learning and Development Certificate from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. Additionally, Steven has acquired certifications in Microsoft Loop: AI-Enhanced Project Management and Note-Taking and Scrum: Advanced from LinkedIn in 2024 and 2021, respectively.
