Juan Sebastián López Zarate

Juan Sebastián López Zarate has a diverse work experience in the banking industry. Juan Sebastián started their career as a Credit Officer at Colpatria in June 2012 and worked there until January 2014. At Colpatria, their main responsibilities included credit operations and customer analysis.

In February 2014, Juan joined Scotiabank Colpatria as a Credit Solutions Specialist - SAM Banking. In this role, they focused on structuring strategies for existing clients facing financial difficulties. Juan Sebastián participated in negotiations for repayment and recovery strategies, and prepared comprehensive reports to assess potential losses for the bank and the viability of negotiated solutions.

In February 2016, Juan was promoted to the position of Credit Solutions Manager at Scotiabank Colpatria. In this role, they coordinated with relationship managers to find structuring solutions for commercial and real estate clients. Juan Sebastián was responsible for preparing comprehensive reports that analyzed the borrower's financial situation, key risks, and mitigants of the transaction, as well as environmental and industry issues.

In March 2017, Juan further advanced their career at Scotiabank Colpatria and became the Team Leader of Credit Solutions. As the leading officer of a 6-member team, they were responsible for providing structuring solutions for credit operations in commercial, corporate, and real estate banking. Juan Sebastián'sactivities included participating in negotiations with prospects, coordinating with stakeholders, strategic time planning, providing full-time support to team members, and coaching.

Currently, Juan holds the position of Head of Credit Solutions & Portfolio Management at Scotiabank Colpatria. Juan Sebastián assumed this role in November 2023 and is responsible for overseeing credit solutions and portfolio management within the organization.

Juan Sebastián López Zarate attended Universidad de Los Andes from 2005 to 2012, where they earned a degree in Economics.
