Brian Chong is an experienced leader in data protection and cybersecurity with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Director of Data Protection - Program Governance at Scotiabank since September 2020, Brian oversees the global implementation of data protection initiatives in alignment with regulatory expectations and organizational risk practices. Prior to Scotiabank, Brian held roles at PwC Canada for seven years as Director of Cybersecurity & Privacy, where responsibilities included leading client engagements across various domains of data protection and cybersecurity strategy. Earlier career positions included roles at Bytes Systems Integration, Dimension Data, Business Connexion, and KPMG Canada, where Brian honed expertise in IT security, vulnerability management, and information technology. Brian holds a B.Sc Honours degree in Computing and Information Systems from London Metropolitan University and an Information Technology Professional degree from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
