James Spearing

James Spearing is an accomplished human resources executive with extensive experience in talent acquisition and workforce management. Currently serving as Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner for Corporate Functions at Scotiabank, James supports the alignment of HR strategies with the bank's global business objectives. Previously, James held the position of Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition at Scotiabank, overseeing recruitment programs across the enterprise. Prior roles include Managing Director at PwC Canada, where James led national workforce planning and recruitment, and various leadership positions at PwC Australia, focusing on client experience and market strategy. James began a career in accounting at PwC Bermuda and has held multiple senior roles in recruitment and assurance. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from McGill University and a Master of Management & Professional Accounting from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
