Wendy Bashnan

Director, Security and Fire Safety at Scout Motors

Wendy Bashnan has a diverse background in security and leadership roles. Wendy is currently the Director of Security and Fire Safety at Scout Motors Inc. In their previous role at Nielsen, they served as the Chief Security Officer and provided trusted advice on corporate security to the C-suite and board. Wendy also played a key role in improving business resiliency and crisis management plans. Wendy has experience in leading organizations that promote women in leadership positions, such as Chief, where they served as the Chief Member. Prior to that, Wendy worked as a Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Diplomatic Security Service, where they directed training initiatives and successfully implemented e-Learning methods. Wendy also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Security at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), overseeing physical and cybersecurity operations. Wendy's experience as a Special Agent in Charge at the Diplomatic Security Service involved managing security professionals and developing strategic plans to increase criminal prosecutions. Wendy has also worked at the U.S. Department of State as the Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary for DS, where they coordinated global security operations and managed congressional inquiries.

Wendy Bashnan completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government at the University of South Carolina from 1985 to 1989. Wendy also earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from the University of South Carolina, although the specific dates for this degree are not provided.

In 2019-2020, Wendy attended the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative (NPLI) for executive education.
