Katie Luepke, PharmD, BCPS, CMPP

Katie Luepke, PharmD, BCPS, CMPP has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Katie is currently the Sr. Director of Scientific Communications, Drug Information & Publications at scPharmaceuticals, starting in October 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Heron Therapeutics, Inc. from 2019 to 2022. At Heron Therapeutics, Katie held the position of Director, Acute Care, Scientific Communications and Medical Affairs. In this role, they oversaw scientific publications, managed the publications working group, led medical information processes, and developed strategic scientific communication plans. Katie also served as the Publications Working Group Chair and Acute Care Medical Information Lead.

Before Heron Therapeutics, Katie worked at Achaogen from 2017 to 2019. Katie held the role of Director, Field Medical Affairs and served as the Medical Affairs Scientific Trainer for the Infectious Diseases therapeutic area. Katie'sresponsibilities included scientific training of new-hire staff, leading department training meetings, managing KOL relationship development, and driving scientific exchange.

From 2015 to 2016, Katie worked at Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals as the Director of Field Medical Affairs. Here, they focused on KOL relationship development, scientific exchange, and commercial field support in the Infectious Disease therapeutic area. Katie also led educational initiatives and spearheaded a non-branded educational campaign on the value of antibiotics.

Katie's earlier experience includes working as the Clinical Scientific Director at Cubist Pharmaceuticals from 2014 to 2015. Katie began their career as a Clinical Pharmacist at Grady Health System in 2003, where they held various roles including Clinical Pharmacist Specialist and Clinical Pharmacist.

Katie Luepke, PharmD, BCPS, CMPP completed their education at Auburn University, where they obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree in the field of Pharmacy. Katie further enhanced their expertise with additional certifications. Katie obtained the Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification from the BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties in December 2006. In November 2022, they obtained the Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) certification from the ISMPP (International Society for Medical Publication Professionals). Katie's other certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), CITI Good Clinical Practice Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and being a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Georgia.
