Emma Atkinson

Emma Atkinson has worked in various writing and editorial roles, starting as a general assignment reporter for the Indiana Daily Student in 2017. Emma has also worked as a news intern at KRBD-FM and as a reporting intern at WTIU-TV (PBS) before becoming a part-time education and economy reporter. In 2018, they were a Daily Monitor Health Reporting Intern at the Nation Media Group. From 2019 to 2021, they were a digital journalist/fill-in anchor and later became a reporter/All Things Considered anchor at WTIU-TV (PBS). Emma was also a staff writer and associate editor at Ragan Communications and PR Daily from 2021 to 2022. In 2022, Emma worked as a writer and editor for their blog, Gilded Ginkgo Home & Lifestyle, and as a writer and podcast host for the University of Denver's DU Newsroom. Lastly, they worked as an Alt Text Writer for Scribely before joining Healthcare Salute in 2023 as their Social Media & Newsletter Content Strategist.

Emma Atkinson received their High School Diploma from Champaign Central High School in 2015. In 2015, they also attended DePaul University and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Journalism before moving to Indiana University Bloomington where they earned an additional Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Journalism from 2016 to 2019.
