Leon Prentice

Leon Prentice has a diverse and extensive work experience. Leon is currently the Chief R&D Officer at SDI Limited since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at CSIRO from 2007 to 2021, holding various roles such as Research Program Director, Senior Research Engineer, Principal Research Consultant, Research Group Leader, Program Director (Acting), and Research Team Leader, Process Engineering. During their time at CSIRO, they focused on research management, process development, and scale-up of novel technologies for high-performance metals, especially light and transition metals like titanium, for applications in aerospace, biomedical, and novel manufacturing processes. Leon also had a role as Stream Leader, Light Metals Opportunities, where they managed a portfolio of projects and oversaw project management, budgets, business development, commercialization, and research direction. Before their tenure at CSIRO, they worked as a Senior R&D Engineer at SDI Limited from 2001 to 2007. Leon Prentice also has prior experience as an Engineering Assistant at CESL Limited in 1999 and as an Engineering Technician at BHP in 1999.

Leon Prentice's education history is as follows:

- From 1987 to 1990, Leon attended RVA and received a degree in Junior High/Intermediate/Middle School Education and Teaching.

- From 1990 to 1993, Leon attended Koonung Secondary College and earned a Victorian Certificate of Education, with a focus on Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.

- In 2007, Leon pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Process Technology and Management from the University of Strathclyde. Leon finished the program in 2010.
