Lap-Tak Chu is a data scientist at Seaspan ULC since July 2022, specializing in digital twins within the Innovation Group. Previous experience includes serving as a graduate research and teaching assistant at the University of Toronto from September 2018 to August 2021, where Lap-Tak received the 2019-2020 MIE Teaching Assistant Award. Additional roles include UBC Work Learn Student at the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics, Data Science for Social Good Research Fellow at The University of British Columbia, and various positions with the District of West Vancouver, including Recreation Facility Clerk and Lifeguard/Instructor. Lap-Tak's academic background encompasses a Master of Engineering in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics from The University of British Columbia, and studies in Engineering Sciences at ETH Zürich, alongside an International Baccalaureate Diploma from West Vancouver Secondary School.
