Shahzad Umar

Shahzad Umar is the current Chief Technology Officer at Seated. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Eloquii/Walmart from November 2017 to January 2020. Shahzad has also held positions as Sr. Director Engineering at Zulily from June 2015 to November 2017, Co-Founder & CEO at EDRepublic Inc. from March 2015 to September 2019, and Sr. Engineering Manager at Groupon from January 2013 to March 2015.

Shahzad has extensive experience in leading tech initiatives and product roadmaps for eCommerce companies. Shahzad has also managed multiple development offices and built eCommerce products including Distributed Order Management, Payments Systems & Services, Mobile Applications, Eloquii Rewards Program, Flex Payments Solution, Dropship & Marketplace Services, Personalized Shopping Experience, and Marketplace Pricing Strategies. In addition, Shahzad has worked on enhancing core engineering infrastructure for Eloquii with initiatives such as migrating and consolidating the entire eCommerce infrastructure to Amazon Web Services, containerizing all eCommerce Web Services with CI/CD, and engineering Omni Channel Data Pipelines & Analytics.

Shahzad Umar has a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Shahzad also attended Cadet College Kohat.

Shahzad Umar reports to Brice Gumpel, CEO. Some individuals on their team include Han Xiao - Director of Engineering, Hyung Kyoon Kim - Lead Software Engineer, and Joseph Kearney - Senior Analytics Engineer. They work with Erica Anderman - VP of Restaurant Operations, Lucia Varela - Chief Marketing Officer, and Julia Kleinsteuber-Walker - Head of People.
