Karama Blackhorn is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in equity initiatives and community engagement. Currently serving as the Senior Equity Initiatives Program Manager at Seattle Aquarium since August 2022, Karama previously held the position of Community Engagement Manager at Seattle Public Schools, where responsibilities included developing inclusive pathways for families and students of color to influence district policy. Other notable roles include Queer Culture and Resource Center Director at California State University-Dominguez Hills, and various positions focused on multicultural support and advocacy at institutions such as The Evergreen State College and South Puget Sound Community College. Karama possesses a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Critical Race and Gender Studies, both earned from The Evergreen State College.
