Dawn Rutherford

Dawn Rutherford is an experienced library professional currently serving as the Northwest Regional Manager and Supervising Librarian at The Seattle Public Library since October 2017. With a strong background in leadership, Dawn oversees branch staff, manages hiring and training processes, and ensures efficient library operations through effective scheduling and payroll management. Previous experience includes roles as Interim Youth and Family Learning Services Manager and Branch Manager at Sno-Isle Libraries, where responsibilities encompassed developing and directing library services and programs. Additionally, positions at King County Library System, Chicago Public Library, and early roles at Bellingham and Spokane Public Libraries have contributed to expertise in young adult services and customer engagement. Dawn holds a Master of Library & Information Science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree in English from Western Washington University.
