Thomas Esser has a diverse range of work experience, primarily in the aerospace industry. Thomas started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Washington Low Speed Fluid Dynamics and Aerodynamics Laboratory, where they assisted professors and improved the efficiency and accuracy of spectral analysis. Thomas then worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Advanced Plasma Propulsion Laboratory, where they conducted research on plasma propulsion. Thomas later joined VIRES Aeronautics as a Mechanical & Controls Design Engineer, where they focused on designing and testing mechanical and control systems. In 2013, Thomas joined the Wind Tunnel Test Engineer team at the University of Washington Aeronautical Laboratory, where they gained experience in wind tunnel testing. After that, they worked at AeroTEC - Aerospace Testing Engineering & Certification Inc. as a Flight Sciences Engineer, contributing to flight testing and certification projects. In 2015, Thomas embarked on a new role as the Drumline Section Lead for Sound Wave, the official marching band of the Seattle Sounders FC, showcasing their passion for music and leadership skills. Most recently, they joined Boeing as a Flight Test Engineer, specializing in Stability & Control Analysis.
Thomas Esser received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics from the University of Washington, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. In 2023, they obtained a Private Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration.
