Austin Gerig

Austin Gerig is a seasoned financial economist and data science expert with extensive experience in leadership roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since June 2014, serving as Chief Data Officer and Head of the Office of Data Science in the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis. Prior roles include Senior Fellow at the University of Oxford and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney. Austin's academic foundation includes a PhD and MS in Physics and Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, complemented by a BS in Physics from the University of Notre Dame.
