Bryan D’Aguiar is a Director at Secretariat where he supports the Damages and Forensic Investigations team with insights and analysis (financial and valuation) across a number of countries. He has provided expert evidence on valuation and damages in several international cases and arbitrations.
Mr. D’Aguiar has over 20 years of analytical and Institutional Investing experience in Emerging and Frontier markets. He has a deep understanding of companies and sectors in many of these markets, and has been responsible for conducting research and valuations across multiple sectors across almost 60 countries. He has worked with different types of institutional investors helping them invest in these markets across a number of structures and delivered top-ranked returns in a number of market leading strategies, winning multiple awards.
Mr. D’Aguiar joined Secretariat as part of the firm’s acquisition of Versant Partners. Prior to joining Versant in 2019, he was Lead Portfolio Manager with the Emerging Markets Team at The RockCreek Group. Preceding this, he was a Portfolio Manager at Ashmore Group (formerly Emerging Markets Management) for over eight years where he managed investments in Developing Markets including notable strategies in Middle East and Africa. He played a senior role in Global Emerging Market strategies and was a voting member on the Investment Committee. He also served as a Board Member at Ashmore Investment Saudi Arabia.
Mr. D’Aguiar lived in the Middle East for 15 years. During this time, he was responsible for building research teams at NCB Capital (securities arm of Saudi Arabia’s largest Bank) and SICO Bahrain. He also lived in Asia for 15 years starting his career in India at Mumbai based B&K Securities where he was an Asiamoney rated Financials analyst and an Investment Strategist within the Institutional equities team.
Mr. D’Aguiar holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors in Taxation) from Mumbai University and an MBA (Finance) from the Goa Institute of Management graduating Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian. He is a CFA Charterholder.
