Michele Sancricca has a diverse and extensive work experience. Michele is currently the Co-founder and CEO of Secro, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from March 2020 to April 2022, serving as the Head of Worldwide Technology, Supply Chain and Logistics. Before joining AWS, they were employed at Amazon from March 2019 to March 2020 as the Head of Supply Chain Solutions for their e-commerce Crossborder Transportation division. Michele also held the position of Vice President and Member of the Board at YSPNY - Young Shipping Professionals of New York from October 2017 to March 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked at MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company as the Director of Business Transformation from September 2014 to March 2019. During their time at MSC, they played a pivotal role in restructuring and streamlining the US branch of the company, overseeing 250 reports. Prior to their career in the private sector, Michele served in the Marina Militare Italiana as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy from August 2002 to August 2014. In this role, they held various key positions and commanded naval vessels for counter immigration and sea control operations and was responsible for strategic and operational planning against Somali pirates as the Deputy Head of Operations.
Michele Sancricca has a diverse education history spanning multiple fields of study. In 1994, they attended the Scuola Navale Francesco Morosini, where they obtained a degree in Classics and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics. From 1997 to 2001, they pursued an MS in Telecommunication and Naval Engineering, International Relationships at the Università degli Studi di Firenze, specializing in Maritime Studies. In 2011, Michele earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Economics, shipping, and logistics from Middlesex University.
In 2016, they attended Villanova University, where they obtained a Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification. Michele then expanded their knowledge in container port terminal management by earning a diploma from Lloyd's Maritime Academy in 2017. The same year, they completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
In 2018, Michele furthered their education in the field of artificial intelligence and big data. Michele attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a program on Artificial Intelligence - Implications for business strategy and Stanford University Graduate School of Business for Big Data for Strategic Decisions.
Additionally, Michele has acquired two certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In 2020, they became certified in Amazon Web Services Big Data Specialty and also achieved the title of AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate.
