Vikas Karunakaran

Vikas Karunakaran is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in threat research and malware analysis. Currently serving as the Head of Threat Research at Sectrio, Vikas leads a team focused on developing threat intelligence and conducting IEC 62443 risk assessments, gap analysis, and threat hunting to safeguard critical infrastructures. Previous roles include positions at Sophos, where Vikas held multiple titles including Manager and Lead Threat Researcher, and at Qualys as a Malware Analyst. Additional experience includes contributions as an Associate Malware Analyst at BeeHuss Solutions Pvt Ltd and a Research Analyst at Comodo India. Vikas holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Muthayammal Engineering College, completed in 2013.
